Step by step
  1. Unplug the dryer and pull it away from the wall.

  2. Disconnect the vent hose from the dryer and the wall port.

  3. Vacuum lint from inside the dryer's exhaust port and hose.

  4. Use a vent-cleaning brush kit to clear the full duct run to the exterior vent.

  5. Reconnect the hose with a clamp, plug in the dryer, and run a cycle to test airflow.
