Step by step
  1. Unplug the refrigerator.

  2. Locate the coils (behind a bottom grille or on the back of the unit).

  3. Vacuum dust and pet hair off with a coil brush or vacuum attachment.

  4. Wipe down the surrounding area.

  5. Plug back in - dirty coils are a common cause of a fridge running hot or inefficiently.
