Step by step
  1. Check the breaker panel for a tripped breaker first.

  2. Press the RESET button on any GFCI outlets on the same circuit - one dead GFCI can kill downstream outlets.

  3. Plug a lamp into nearby outlets to map which ones are affected.

  4. Turn off power and check for a loose wire connection at the dead outlet.

  5. If wiring looks fine and power is confirmed off elsewhere, call an electrician to check for a break in the line.
