Step by step
Scrape out cracked or missing caulk with a utility knife or caulk removal tool.
Clean the gap and let it dry completely.
Apply exterior-grade, paintable caulk in a continuous bead at a 45-degree angle.
Smooth the bead with a wet finger or caulk tool.
Let cure per label instructions before painting over it.
