Step by step
Clean the crack with a wire brush and remove loose debris/vegetation.
For cracks under 1/2 inch, use a pourable asphalt or concrete crack filler.
For wider cracks, use a backer rod before filling.
Smooth the filler level with the surrounding surface using a trowel.
Let cure fully (check label) before driving or walking on it.
