Step by step
  1. Remove grout around the damaged tile with a grout saw.

  2. Carefully break and chisel out the cracked tile, protecting neighbors.

  3. Scrape old mortar/adhesive from the subfloor flat.

  4. Apply new thin-set mortar and press the replacement tile into place, using spacers.

  5. Let cure, then apply matching grout and seal once fully dry.
