Step by step

  1. Turn off the HVAC system.

  2. Locate the filter slot (return air duct or inside the air handler).

  3. Note the airflow direction arrow on the old filter before removing it.

  4. Slide in the new filter with the arrow pointing toward the furnace/blower.

  5. Turn the system back on and write the install date on the filter frame.
