Step by step
Identify branches within 6-10 feet of the roof or touching the house.
For low shrubs and small branches, use hand pruners or a pole saw from the ground.
Cut just outside the branch collar, not flush with the trunk.
For anything requiring a ladder near power lines or large limbs, hire a certified arborist.
Clear cut branches away from gutters and dispose of or chip debris.
